2 pedestrians intentionally struck in Commerce City

A group of people were walking through a field to watch fireworks when a vehicle intentionally struck two pedestrians, according to police.

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — Two pedestrians were intentionally hit when walking to watch fireworks, said the Commerce City Police Department.

At around 10 p.m. Thursday, police said a group of of people were walking through a field in the 7000 block of East 64th Avenue to watch fireworks when a vehicle intentionally hit two men that were a part of the group.

 The car ran over one of the men and seriously injured both before fleeing the scene.

Police recovered a silver SUV that they believe was involved in Aurora. Police said they believe this was a targeted attack and are trying to identify the driver.
