2 killed in shooting Sunday identified

Deandre Lewis and Raeshaud Jackson died after a shooting in the 9800 block of East Girard Avenue early Sunday morning, Denver Police said.

DENVER — Two people were killed in a shooting in southeast Denver early Sunday morning, Denver Police said.

Police said just before 3 a.m. that officers were investigating after hearing gunshots in a parking lot in the 9800 block of East Girard Avenue, where they found one victim with gunshot wounds.

A second victim who also had gunshot wounds was taken to the hospital by an associate, police said.

At 10:10 a.m., police said that both victims had died, and the shooting was being investigated as a homicide.

The victims were identified as Deandre Lewis, 23, and Raeshaud Jackson, 24. Lewis was pronounced dead at the scene, and Jackson was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police did not release any suspect information or details surrounding the shooting.
