2 men injured in central Denver shooting

The shooting happened Tuesday night in the 100 block of East Seventh Avenue.

DENVER — Two men were injured in a shooting Tuesday night, the Denver Police Department said. 

Police said the shooting happened around 9 p.m. in the 100-block of East Seventh Avenue, which is near the intersection of Seventh Avenue with Speer Boulevard and Lincoln Street. 

Both victims were taken to the hospital. Police did not provide details about the extent of their injuries but said in an update Wednesday morning that both were expected to survive.

Investigators are working to gather more information about what led up to the incident and have not provided any information about possible suspects in the case.

Metro Denver Crime Stoppers works by assigning a code to people who anonymously submit a tip. Information is shared with law enforcement, and Crime Stoppers is notified at the conclusion of the investigation. 

From there, an awards committee reviews the information provided and, if the information leads to an arrest, the tipster will be notified. Rewards can be collected using the code numbers received when the tip was originally submitted.
