KUSA - Two people have been charged in the shooting death of Troy Allen Pitman, 44, at his home on March 9.
Leslie Christine Barrett, 45, and Billy Edward Scott, 53, appeared in Jefferson County court Friday to be advised of their charges.
Barrett was charged with 11 counts including first degree murder, burglary, felony menacing and possession of an illegal weapon.
Scott was charged with 16 counts including first degree murder, burglary, felony menacing and six habitual criminal counts.
Police were called to Ptiman's home at 8450 Gray Street in regards to a shooting on March 9. Pitman was found lying on the floor of the garage.
According to the affidavit, Barrett and Scott had gone to the home to see Pitman about a bond he had co-signed for someone who had subsequently failed to appear in court.
When Barrett and Scott went to the home, Pitman and his brother, Lawrence Pitman, Jr., were working on a car. Scott approached Pitman and they got into an altercation.
Barrett is said to have had a gun and pointed it at both men telling them to stop. She apparently fired a shot that hit Pitman.
Lawrence Pitman ran from the house and returned after police got there.
Barrett and Scott are back in court April 6. They are being held without bond at Jefferson County Detention Center.
