KUSA — Two men have been formally charged with a street robbery in the Baker neighborhood that turned into a murder.
Ibrahim Musa, 20, and Hushram Al Kinani, 18, are each charged with one count of first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated robbery and one count of attempt to commit aggravated robbery, according to a news release distributed by the Denver District Attorney’s Office on Tuesday.
Prosecutors allege that the three victims were walking home in the 100 block of North Bannock Street the night of Oct. 18 when Musa and Al Kinani started to rob them.
One man, 25-year-old Thomas Steen, was shot during the altercation and died at the hospital a few days later.
According to the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner, Steen had been shot in the head.
Al Kinani and Musa were arrested two weeks after the shooting, according to Denver jail records.
Both suspects are slated to appear in court on Nov. 29 for a second advisement hearing.
