AURORA, Colo. — Three people were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds following a shooting Monday morning in the parking lot of an Aurora apartment complex, a spokesperson for the Aurora Police Department (APD) said.
A fourth person was taken the hospital for "health reasons," police said.
The shooting happened at about 10:50 a.m. at the Centerra at Fitzsimmons complex in the area of East 4th Avenue and North Potomac Street, which is just west of Interstate 225, according to APD spokesperson Matthew Longshore.
On Wednesday, officers announced two of the suspects were released from the hospital and were arrested on charges of aggravated robbery.
Authorities said another suspect remains in the hospital with injuries that are serious but not life-threatening. He will be arrested on a charge of attempted murder after being discharged, according to APD.
Officers arrived at the apartment complex Monday morning and found a man who had been shot. He was taken to the hospital after officers applied a tourniquet that likely saved his life, according to Longshore.
APD said a 17-year-old man was found in the back of a nearby vehicle with a gunshot wound and was taken to the hospital in extremely serious condition, where he remained as of Wednesday.
The officers were given a description of the suspects and were able to detain two men in the area of East 2nd Avenue and Potomac Street.
One of them had minor injuries from a gunshot wound, the other person was transported to the hospital for "health reasons," according to Longshore.
Weapons were recovered at both East 4th Avenue and Potomac Street and at East 2nd Avenue and Potomac Street, according to Longshore.
Officers said three of those involved are 19-year-old men, and the fourth involved is the 17-year-old man. APD said they believe they have made contact with everyone involved in the incident.
"We do believe we have everybody, we can't say 100% until we interview all these people to find out if anyone else was with them," Longshore said.
