AURORA - Aurora Police are investigating a fatal shooting Friday morning.
According to police, around 1:40 a.m., Aurora Police received a shots fired report in the area of North Nome Street and East Montview Boulevard.
When they arrived, they determined that a shooting had taken place in the east parking lot of the Montview Bar and Grill, but they did not locate any victims.
A short time later, police heard about a woman and man suffering from gunshot wounds in a local emergency room.
The woman later succumbed from her injuries and the man is expected to survive. Their identities are not being released at this time.
Preliminary investigation suggests the victims were involved in an altercation with an unknown man outside of the bar. During the altercation, the suspect produced a gun and shot both victims.
At this time, police do not have a description of the suspect.
