DENVER — A suspect has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting near a Denver gas station Sunday morning, the Denver Police Department said.
The shooting happened just after 7:30 a.m. Sunday near the Sinclair gas station at Santa Fe Drive and Sixth Avenue. The victim died on the scene, police said. His name has not yet been released.
DPD said the initial call came in from the Sinclair store manager, who described the possible suspect leaving the scene on a bicycle.
Police identified the suspect as Uriel Ríos-Avila, 32. He is being held on a first-degree murder charge.
Police believe Ríos-Avila and the victim knew each other. They have not said what led up to the shooting.
