Ball Corp. has closed on its long-pending acquisition of British rival Rexam plc, uniting the world’s two largest makers of beverage cans.
The deal — for $6.1 billion in cash and stock, plus assumption of $2.4 billion in debt — was first announced in February 2015, then underwent a long process of review by U.S. and European regulators.
