Sam Adams is more than a beer. It's also the moniker of a Denver sportswriter, TV personality and stand-up comic.
Adams, 54, was born and raised in Cleveland. A two-year stint at Kent State was followed by a 30-day stint in the Army. "I was sent home with high blood pressure," he says. "Who wouldn't have high blood pressure after being in South Carolina in August?"
Then he was living at home, working as a customer service rep for insurance companies, and antsy to start his life. "I was always trying to find a way out, how I could get out and become a man."
