DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL — Amazon's DEN2 General Manager Joe Dudek led a tour for the media and a few dignitaries of the fulfillment center in Aurora near I-70 and E470 on Thursday morning.
Among the speakers prior to the walking tour were U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet, Congressman Ed Perlmutter and Congressman Mike Coffman.
The 1 million square-foot site has been operational since September 2017, but this was the first opportunity for media to tour the facility.
There are more than 1,000 full-time employees that pick, pack, ship from the Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) facility every day. The facility in Thornton, which is designed slightly differently and includes robots that access products, will open in the fall of 2018.
