DENVER — Denver International Airport chose restaurants that are known for fried chicken and that honor Denver’s RiNo neighborhood to be among the first new businesses in its revamped terminal.
DIAs $1.8 billion Great Hall renovation project named the first six restaurants and shops awarded contracts and revealed new concepts will be among the concessions opening in mid-2019 with completion of the renovation’s first phase.
The contract awardees reflect the strength of bids turned for the initial request for proposals, said Ignacio Castejon, CEO of Great Hall Partners.
“We received a variety of strong, game-changing proposals in this first round of RFPs, and our goal was to select the best mix of concepts taking into account the diversity of Denver,” Castejon said.
The biggest of the new restaurants will be the 2,031-square-foot The Post Brewing Company restaurant. DIA will be The Post’s fifth metro-area location and its second in Denver.
