DENVER — Snarf’s Sandwiches is still riding the good fortune of being the kind of restaurant fit to endure a global pandemic.
As a counter service eatery with locations scattered across the Denver metro, shutdowns drove pickup and delivery orders that have since translated into a record growth in sales and a booming catering business.
Today, Boulder-born Snarf’s has 32 locations across three states and six more restaurants opening soon. Over the past four years, the chain has more than doubled its workforce, from 300 to nearly 700, said Wayne Humphrey, Snarf’s vice president of operations.
Still, Snarf's success has been tempered by price pressures described by restaurateurs across the nation. Rising costs for food, utilities and rent is forcing the restaurant to again consider a menu price hike next year, Humphrey said.
