DENVER — The co-founder of a residential development firm has listed his historic Denver home for $10.9 million.

Located at 400 Saint Paul St. in Cherry Creek, this 13,656-square-foot home was built in 1891 and used as a town hall. It was later used as the mayor’s office, a police office, a courtroom, a jail and a volunteer fire department, according to listing agent Kenzie Robertson with LIV Sotheby’s International Realty.

Oakwood Homes’ co-founder Patrick Hamill, who recently announced plans to step down as CEO, purchased the property in 2009 for $1.65 million. In 2010, he converted it to the residential home it is today, Robertson said.

“When he bought it … it was abandoned and run down,” Robertson said. “So he restored it to the best of his restoration abilities. There really wasn’t anything on the inside to restore but the exterior has been restored, and then he expanded it.”

Now, Hamill’s listing the four-bedroom, eight-bathroom house for $10.9 million.
