DENVER — Uptown Denver will soon be home to 35 new condominiums.
Generation Development, a local firm that’s been building condos and townhomes in the Denver area since 2009, recently broke ground on a new five-story building called Marieta at 1717 N. Washington St. The ground floor will also include 2,800 square feet of retail space.
“We think it’s a great site, snuggled on 17th there between Steuben’s and Marczyk’s — restaurant row — and that proximity to Denver and all the great benefits of having those urban locations,” Lonigro said of the location in what is technically Denver's North Capitol Hill neighborhood.
Chris Lonigro, president of Generation Development, said he named the building after the Marieta Islands off the coast of Mexico. The building's design will pay homage to a famous beach on the island, with a lightwell bringing sunlight to all four floors of the building.
