EVERGREEN, Colo. — An Evergreen mansion inspired by the Palace of Versailles in France is on the market for an eye-popping $59,998,000.
The 21,692-square-foot residence situated on 35 acres in the mountains just west of the Denver-metro area is being marketed as the "sexiest chateau in Colorado."
"It’s one of a kind and rivals the Biltmore estate in North Carolina," said listing agent Jean Merkelbach, with Engel & Völkers, in an email to the Denver Business Journal.
Built in 2015, the estate last sold for $9.5 million in 2021. That marked a residential sale record in Jefferson and Clear Creek counties, according to the brokerage involved in the transaction, but it was far from its original listing price of $17.5 million in 2016.
