DENVER — A Denver native, who left energy giant BP and then took an executive role at a Houston-based oil and natural gas company recently sold his home in the Washington Park neighborhood for $6.27 million.

David Lawler and Kristen Lawler sold their 5,558-square-foot house at 600 S. Franklin St. in late July, according to public records.

David Lawler is the new CEO of Kimmeridge Texas Gas, a Houston-based affiliate of asset manager Kimmeridge Energy Management Company LLC. Lawler accepted the role in June, eight months after he resigned from his roles leading BP America Inc. and BPX Energy, both of which are divisions of London-based BP PLC (NYSE: BP).

He served as the chairman and president of BP America from 2020 to 2023, according to Lawler’s bio on Kimmeridge’s website. He was also the founding CEO of BPX Energy, a Denver-based business created in 2018 that oversaw BP’s U.S. onshore exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas.

The Washington Park home features four bedrooms, six bathrooms and the primary suite on the third level opens onto a covered patio overlooking the park across the street, Smith Lake and the Front Range mountains.
