JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. — After years on the market in different forms, the Medved family residence has sold for $14.705 million, according to property records. The sale marked a high for the Denver metro area so far this year, according to brokers involved in the deal.
To create the Bear Mountain Ranch property in unincorporated Jefferson County, Denver business leaders John and Debi Medved purchased the former ski area in the early ‘90s and built out their dream home and ranch to raise their six children. The property was the former home of Arapahoe East Ski Area, which was in operation in the ‘70s and ‘80s, according to previous reporting.
"I didn't want to be a long way from work. I wanted to be able to go to work, come home, have dinner, go back if I had to. And that was not an easy profile to fill," John Medved previously told Denver Business Journal. "Only by the grace of the Lord were we able to find the property that we found and develop it into what we did."
