NORTHGLENN, Colo. — Harkins Theatres announced on Monday plans to expand the company to Northglenn.

The company says they plan to build a 12-screen luxury theatre at I-25 & 104th Ave. The theatre will be located on the northside of the Northglenn Marketplace.

Although a groundbreaking date has not yet been announced, Harkins anticipates opening the new theatre in late 2020.

The new theatre in Northglenn will be Harkins’ fourth Denver location joining Harkins Northfield, Harkins Arvada and the previously announced, Harkins Aurora.

“We are very excited to be able to bring the most advanced state-of-the art theatre to Northglenn, Colorado,” said Dan Harkins, Owner and Executive Chairman of Harkins Theatres, in a release. “Our new Northglenn theatre will include our latest and greatest amenities and programs that we are thrilled to share with a new community of movie-lovers.”

The new Northglenn location will include Harkins’ premium large format auditorium, the CINÉ1, with leather reclining Ultimate Lounger seats, Dolby Atmos 3D sound and signature gold waterfall drapes that will open to unveil each performance.

“Thanks to our loyal moviegoers and community support for our Northfield and Arvada theatres, we have experienced great success in the Denver market,” said Mike Bowers, President and CEO of Harkins Theatres. “We have been looking for the right opportunity to continue to grow in Denver and identified Northglenn as an underserved moviegoing community. That factor and its synergy with our other theatres made Northglenn Marketplace the perfect location for our next Colorado theatre.”
