This is what it's like working inside Amazon's Denver hub

Take a rare look inside Amazon's Denver hub - where workers fill and deliver some orders in just two hours!

In the middle of one of their busiest shipping weeks of the year, Amazon welcomed 9NEWS inside to get a rare look at the company's Denver fulfillment warehouse.

The week up to Christmas is one of the busiest shipping weeks of the year. In a way, the workers there are bailing out a lot of people who waited until the last minute to find gifts.

Amazon's Denver Prime Now hub is where Prime members can get items delivered in just two hours for orders over $35. The question, then, becomes - just how? How do they do it?

As soon as you hit the "Confirm Order" button, your order translates into a bar code that workers scan.

Linsey Kehrli works for the company. She explained that the barcode tells workers where the item is in the building and even gives workers the fastest route to take to get there.

Workers, then, can put together order bags in just a matter of minutes while navigating the roughly 20,000 square-foot hub.

Even with snow on the ground and Denver's notorious traffic - Amazon's got a plan.

"Drivers will take less orders, but we would have more drivers on the road," Kehrli explained.

But what are Amazon's intentions for Colorado - and how many more of these hubs will we see in the state besides in just Denver and Aurora?

"We are building a new fulfillment center," Kehrli said.

But that's all she'll say.

"I can't speak on future plans," she said. "We definitely love Colorado and love being here in Denver."

Amazon said they're hiring for drivers, seasonal workers and for their fulfillment centers.

Prime membership costs $99 a year and two-hour delivery is only for orders worth more than $35. Don't forget to tip your drivers!
