DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL — A federal lawsuit against Anadarko Petroleum Corp., claims the company in recent years — faced with several hundred old wells that needed remediation in its Colorado operations — put concerns about drilling schedules and production ahead of safety in prioritizing which wells would be fixed.
It also claims company executives determined a 28,000-gallon spill in January 2017 near Hudson was caused by the “lack of trained personnel,” but didn’t tell state regulators its conclusion.
The class-action suit, which seeks a jury trial, was detailed Tuesday in a story by the Colorado Independent.
Anadarko spokeswoman Jennifer Brice declined to comment on the suit Tuesday.
