Stanley Hotel lands big name partner for its film center

The deal breathes some air into a long-awaited project.

ESTES PARK, Colo — Estes Park's historic and haunted Stanley Hotel has landed a big new partner for its up-and-coming film center.

A major movie producer said Friday that it will exclusively curate more than 10,000 square feet of exhibit space at the Stanley Film Center — a $70 million, 67,000-plus square foot music and entertainment complex that will also serve as an homage to the horror film genre.

Blumhouse — the multimedia company behind horror franchises including "Halloween," "Get Out" and "Paranormal Activity" — will pull from its catalog of films, TV and gaming to curate exhibits at the film center.
