Denver-area brewery files for bankruptcy following ex-manager's alleged misconduct

The Edgewater brewery will remain open while it reorganizes its finances, the co-founder said.

EDGEWATER, Colo. — The president and co-founder of Joyride Brewing Co. announced on Friday that the Denver-area brewery filed for Chapter 11 reorganization due to a former manager’s alleged wrongdoing.

The brewery located at 2501 Sheridan Blvd. in Edgewater across from Sloan's Lake will remain open, Dave Bergen said in an announcement on the brewery’s Facebook page on Nov. 17.

The brewery will be looking to reorganize its finances “due to suspected financial malfeasance from a former manager,” Bergen said.

“This has nothing to do with Joyride’s ability to run a successful or profitable business, but rather has everything to do with the improper and unauthorized spending, as well as financial mismanagement, of that former manager,” Bergen said.
