Remember Prell shampoo? The brand that was hawked by Christie Brinkley 30 years ago and that was featured in TV commercials with a pearl slowly dropping down a bottle?
The brand has been bought by Scott’s Liquid Gold-Inc. (OTC bulletin board: SLGD) in a $9.1 million deal.
Scott's bought Prell, as well as two other hair and scalp care products, from Ultimark Products Inc.
Prell was initially developed by Procter & Gamble in 1947 and in the late '70s, was one of the country's top-selling brands. The Prell brand has changed hands several times since P&G sold in in 1999, according to Prell, which still maintains its own website.
