Sale of Colorado feedlot operation — largest in the world — is completed

Five Rivers said it has a feeding capacity for more than 920,000 head of cattle and has operations in Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Arizona, and Idaho.

The $200 million sale of a Greeley feedlot operation — which has been called the largest in the world — is complete.

The sale of Five Rivers Cattle Feeding, previously owned by JBS USA, has been completed to asset management firm Pinnacle Asset Management, L.P. of New York. The deal was announced in January.

“This is an exciting milestone in Five Rivers’ long history and a testament to the more than 600 skilled professionals who comprise the Five Rivers team. ... The global demand for American beef remains robust and Five Rivers is well positioned to capitalize on the opportunities ahead," said Mike Thoren, Five Rivers CEO, in a statement. Thoren will continue to lead Five Rivers.
