Macy's investing $200 million in 50 stores — including one in Denver metro

Cincinnati-based department store Macy's Inc. is investing $200 million to upgrade 50 stores across the country – including a location the Denver metro.

Macy's (NYSE: M) is investing in what it's calling its Growth50 stores, 50 locations across the U.S. that are getting a collective $200 million worth of investment to create a more vibrant shopping experience. That includes the Macy's store at the Park Meadows mall in Lone Tree.

The Growth50 stores are getting new lighting and flooring, renovated fitting rooms and restrooms, new or expanded mattress or furniture departments, and new product assortments unique to each location's demographics.

The Growth50 stores are increasing staffing levels and store hours to add new services, such as My Stylist, a complementary personal shopping service; At Your Service, a dedicated location for online purchase pick-ups and returns, and Scan and Pay, a feature on the company's mobile app that allows users to process their own purchases.
