Colorado ski area up for sale

POWDR, Eldora's owner, has sold one of its ski resorts and is planning to sell three more.

NEDERLAND, Colo. — Eldora Mountain is going on the market.

POWDR, Eldora's parent company, said in a statement Thursday that it had sold a property in Vermont and was planning to list three more of its ski resorts — Eldora and properties in Oregon and Canada.

The self-described adventure lifestyle company said it was aiming to balance its ski business with new ventures in the National Parks sector and Woodward Park City, an action sports park.

POWDR said it would list the three properties "in the coming weeks" and promised it would remain dedicated to its current operations at the four resorts it's selling until their sales are finalized.

"In addition, we are dedicated to a seamless transition at all four resorts," the statement said.

The company said it plans to keep its two other ski resorts, Copper Mountain in Summit County and a property in Utah.

Eldora Mountain is located southwest of Nederland in Boulder County and has been open since 1962. POWDR has owned it since 2016.
