DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL — Denver television station KDVR-TV will not become part of the conservative Sinclair Broadcast Group if its merger with Tribune Media, KDVR's current owner, goes through.

Instead, the Fox affiliate will become part of a divestiture bid Sinclair has proposed to ease approval of its merger with Tribune Media with federal regulators.

Maryland-based Sinclair said Tuesday that the Denver station will be among several sold to an as yet unidentified buyer or buyers as part of a 23-station deal aimed at easing regulators concerns about ownership concentration.

Sinclair said it has entered into definitive agreements to sell television stations to Standard Media Group LLC, an affiliate of Standard General LP; Meredith Corp.; Howard Stirk; Cunningham Broadcasting Corp. and another party to be announced once the acquisition of Chicago-based Tribune (NYSE: TRCO) has closed.
