Denver-based civil engineering firm Jansen Strawn Consulting Engineers has been acquired by California-based Ware Malcomb for an undisclosed price in a deal that closed July 31.

Ware Malcomb is an international planning, architecture, design and engineering company established in 1972. Acquiring Jansen Strawn expands the company's civil engineering practice, Ware Malcomb said Monday.

"Ware Malcomb is strongly committed to the expansion and true integration of civil engineering services into all of our markets," said Lawrence R. Armstrong, CEO of Ware Malcomb in a statement. "This is an exciting opportunity to team up with two talents and proven leaders to make this vision a reality."

Chris Strawn and Tom Jansen, who founded Jansen Strawn in 2007, will serve as principals at the firm and will oversee civil engineering for Denver as well as the rest of Ware Malcomb.
