184 employees laid off from Broomfield facility after merger

The layoffs are taking place at VMware's Broomfield location. It wasn't clear which roles were impacted.

BROOMFIELD, Colo. — Semiconductor manufacturer Broadcom Inc. (Nasdaq: AVGO) is laying off 184 Colorado employees less than one week after it completed a $69 billion merger with VMware Inc.

Broadcom didn’t respond to Denver Business Journal’s requests for comment.

Broadcom and VMware layoffs are taking place across the country, with local layoffs impacting employees in Broomfield.

The local layoffs are taking place at VMware’s Broomfield location at 380 Interlocken Crescent Blvd. According to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act letter submitted to the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment office on Monday, the first separations will take place on Jan. 26.
