DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL — A controversial land deal in Arvada aimed at building transit- oriented development near the city's soon-to-open commuter rail line is winding up in court.
A grassroots group called Arvada for All the People, which has opposed the project, has filed suit against the city of Arvada in another attempt to block the project.
The developer, Dallas-based Trammell Crow, proposed to build a six-story, 256-unit apartment on the site back in 2013.
It was struck down by the city council in February amid opposition. However, last month, the city council passed a motion to rehear the developer's preliminary development plan.
The plan, known as the $30 land deal, had been rejected less than two months prior — which led to the filing of complaint for declaratory relief in Jefferson County District Court yesterday.
