CASTLE ROCK, Colo. — A French and Belgium-inspired home in Castle Rock sold this month for a record-breaking $6.5 million.

The sale ranks as the highest-priced home deal in the Village at Castle Pines neighborhood, just north of the Outlets at Castle Rock, and the second-highest-priced home sale in Castle Rock history, according to LIV Sotheby’s International Realty, which represented the seller in this transaction.

Rick and Maren McKay, the home's previous owners, had the 11,536-square-foot residence at 329 Paragon Way built in 2014.

“329 Paragon Way was a vision crafted from an architectural tour across Belgium and the Arles and Provence regions of France in 2010,” the McKays said in an email. “With the guidance of Don Ruggles, of DHR Architecture, our vision evolved to drawings and a two-year effort was underway. It was [a] complete design collaboration, creating the flow and character of our seven-member family, along with our Newfoundlands and their furry sidekicks.”

The seven-bedroom, 10-bathroom home features high-end finishes and furnishings from around the country, including Carrera marble countertops in the kitchen, limestone rocks along the home’s exterior and interior fireplace and custom lighting.
