Anadarko Petroleum Corp. on Tuesday detailed for the first time the steps Colorado’s largest oil and gas company is taking to inspect thousands of wells in the wake of the fatal Firestone home explosion on April 17 that killed two men.
Among the steps: Anadarko (NYSE: APC) will permanently disconnect all underground 1-inch natural gas flow lines for all of the more than 3,000 vertical wells it owns and operates in northeastern Colorado's Denver-Julesburg Basin.
The details are included in a web page the company set up and expects to update periodically.
“The main reason [for the web page] is so we could improve some of the transparency and let folks know what actions we are taking — both in terms of what we’ve done voluntarily as well as those done to comply with the state’s notice to operators,” Anadarko spokesman John Christiansen said.
