The Chartres Lodging Group, which operates Starwood Hotels, has finished the purchase of the Adam's Mark Hotel.
The Adam's Mark, which will be renamed the Sheraton Denver Hotel in the spring, will undergo a $70 million renovation.
All of the rooms, public space and meeting space will get a new look.
Plasma TVs will be added to the lobby and there will be a state-of-the-art fitness center.
Starwood Hotels says the company was looking to bring the Sheraton brand to Denver in a hotel with convention center space.
"I think that with the money that's going to be reinvested in this property, it will be a natural complement to the other hotels in Denver. It will help the city, help the convention bureau continue to attract meetings and conventions, so I think it will be great for the city all-around," said Tom Curley, an area manager with Starwood.
The Chartres Lodging Group has also bought convention-oriented hotels in Dallas, St. Louis, Indianapolis and Buffalo, N.Y.
