DENVER - Hines is poised to break ground on a "skyline changing" 40-story office tower at 1144 15th St., between Arapahoe and Lawrence streets in Denver.

That news comes after stops and starts on the project for more than 14 years, spanning two commercial real estate development cycles.

Executives at Houston-based Hines promise the 640,000-square-foot development will "change the Denver skyline." Upon completion, it will be among the 10 tallest buildings in Denver.

"1144 Fifteenth will set a new standard for Denver's high-rise office space and enhance our city's urban experience," said Jay Despard, Hines managing director. "It has been nearly three decades since Denver has received an office tower of this size and scale. We strongly believe that the quality and location of this building will be appealing to a wide range of tenants."
