BROOMFIELD, Colo. — Italian restaurant chain Buca di Beppo filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protections Monday, according to Reuters and USA Today.
Buca Di Beppo has closed several restaurants in recent weeks, including a Colorado restaurant near Flatiron Crossing in Broomfield.
The company operates restaurants in several states including California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, Missouri, Minnesota, Florida, Tennessee, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, and Kentucky.
The company blamed rising costs and hiring difficulty, according court papers filed in U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas.
Buca Di Beppo told USA Today in a statement that it will restructure 44 locations.
The restaurant chain said it has more than 3,000 part-time employees and 266 full-time employees.
