LAS VEGAS — Nearly two dozen awards at the 2024 World Beer Cup were awarded to Colorado breweries.
Nineteen Colorado breweries received a total of 21 awards at the ceremony at the The Venetian in Las Vegas on April 24.
The Colorado Brewers Guild (CBG) said the World Beer Cup evaluates beers from around the world, recognizing the most outstanding brewers and beers in 110 beer-style categories.
"Colorado continues to prove that it’s competitive on the world beer stage," said CBG Executive Director Shawnee Adelson. "With nine gold medals this year ranging from lagers to Belgian styles, Colorado craft breweries are demonstrating that they can brew alongside the best brewers in the world."
Verboten Brewing and Barrel Project and Station 26 Brewing have the longest streaks with three World Beer Cup wins in a row. This year, seven breweries won their first World Beer Cup awards including Lakewood's Old 121 Brewhouse.
Presented by the Brewers Association, the World Beer Cup has been held biennially since 1996, to celebrate the art and science of brewing by recognizing outstanding achievement.
