COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Shipley Do-Nuts is continuing its expansion into Colorado.

The Houston-based doughnut company opened its first location in Colorado Springs on Monday.

Located at 11010 Cross Peak View in northeast Colorado Springs, the shop is the third Shipley Do-Nuts location in Colorado, joining other sites in Aurora and Fountain.

Owned by franchisee Corby Roberston III, the 1,900-square-foot shop will be open daily from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. While the new shop is currently open, it will also host a grand opening event open to the public on Monday, Nov. 6.

Shipley Do-Nuts is known for its plain glazed donuts, as well as coffee, cold brew, kolaches, cinnamon rolls, and bear claws. Shipley Do-Nuts said its most popular item is the glazed donut, with its unique hexagon shape that creates a "lighter, fluffier texture."

The 87-year-old company franchises over 330 restaurants across 10 states.
