DENVER — A popular Colorado Mexican restaurant will open a new location.

Los Dos Potrillos has announced plans to open a new restaurant in Denver.

The Denver restaurant will be the seventh for Los Dos Potrillos, joining locations in Littleton, Highlands Ranch, Parker, Centennial, Northglenn, and Castle Rock.

Los Dos Potrillos said its new restaurant will be located near Colorado Boulevard and Interstate 25 at 4100 E. Mexico Ave. Ste. G. The site previously was home to a Hacienda restaurant.

Founded in 2002, Jose Ramirez opened the original Los Dos Potrillos restaurant in Centennial. Los Dos Potrillos opened its latest restaurant in Castle Rock in January.

"Our mission is to create exceptional value for our customers. We are excited to announce our first Denver location," said CEO Daniel Ramirez. "We look forward to becoming a welcoming haven for our growing community, offering the same quality, consistency, service and commitment that defines the Los Dos family."

"Expanding to Denver is an important step for us, allowing us to connect and serve a new group of diners," Ramirez said. "Our Los Dos family is excited about this growth and cannot wait to bring our delicious food and overall dining experience to a new community in such a centralized location."

Los Dos Potrillos has been a favorite of Denver Broncos coaches and players through the years.

Broncos general manager George Paton dined at the Centennial location in January 2022 with Nathaniel Hackett, successfully securing him as the head coach for the team.

Former Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak also liked to finish off his weeks with a Friday night dinner in a back booth at Los Dos Potrillos, according to 9NEWS Broncos Insider Mike Klis.
