The Denver Museum of Nature & Science will host the most comprehensive exhibition about Leonardo da Vinci ever presented starting on March 1.

Leonardo da Vinci: 500 Years of Genius highlights the legacy of the ultimate Renaissance man who made significant contributions as an inventor, artist, scientist and engineer.

Leonardo’s work comes to life through a series of replicas that have been recreated in Italy, including detailed concepts from his notes and sketches. The exhibition also includes the only 360-degree replica ever made of Mona Lisa.

“As guests examine more than 70 models, they will see how Leonardo’s fundamental scientific and artistic principles continue to impact the world today,” a release from the museum says. “Leonardo’s inspiration laid the groundwork for many machines and devices, including the helicopter, airplane, automobile, submarine, parachute, SCUBA gear and military tank.”

In addition to immersive, multi-sensory displays, guests will be able to test a Leonardo-inspired catapult and create their own codex page with a self-portrait or still life image.

The exhibition, which was developed by Grande Exhibitions and Pascal Cotte, will be open through August 25. Tickets go on sale Feb. 4, and the museum recommends buying tickets ahead of time.
