FREDERICK, Colorado — The next King Soopers Marketplace to open in Colorado will be located on the northern edge of the Denver metro area.

The Town of Frederick announced a 123,000-square-foot King Soopers Marketplace store will open at Colorado Boulevard and Highway 52.

The site on the northwest corner of the intersection was chosen in the Silverstone master-planned community after nearly two years of site selection and negotiations, Frederick officials said.

The King Soopers Marketplace will anchor the Silverstone Marketplace shopping center, which hopes to add approximately 75,000 square feet of additional retail, restaurant, and commercial space.

Groundbreaking is anticipated this autumn and the store is expected to employ 300 workers.

King Soopers opened its 12th Marketplace store in Colorado in January. The new 124,000-square-foot store is located at 13525 Quebec St. in northeast Thornton.
