Denver music venue to become Latin night club after 65 years

"Thanks for the opportunity to be Denver's home for so many bands and friends over the decades." The venue said it has hosted over 40,000 bands/sets.

DENVER — A 65-year-old Denver music venue announced it will undergo renovations and become a Latin music club.

Herman's Hideaway said after some renovations, the venue will become Coco Bongos at Herman's Hideaway.

Located on South Broadway at Iowa Avenue, the venue shared to social media that its owner Mike Roth "has been working with a new operating group with a new and exciting vision for the space in mind."

"Once complete, Coco Bongos at Herman's Hideaway will be a premiere Latin night club while maintaining a focus on booking local and national touring bands as well," the venue posted.

"Over the last 65 years we have been blessed to serve Denver and S. Broadway with over 40,000 bands/sets and we're excited to see what happens in the future. Thanks for the opportunity to be Denver's home for so many bands and friends over the decades," Herman's Hideaway said.

"This new team officially took over July 1st and decided to begin renovations immediately, which will include a new and improved dance floor, upgraded lighting, and more. Unfortunately a subfloor problem on the dancefloor was discovered over the weekend and extensive repairs need to be done immediately for safety concerns."

"This means we must cancel all upcoming shows through July, which is a decision not taken lightly. Please note: The Hedwig & The Angry Inch production will be moving venues but is NOT cancelled," Herman's Hideaway said.

"We sincerely apologize to all the artists, fans, and crew that are impacted by this decision. Refunds for those who bought tickets will be processed beginning today."
