AURORA, Colo. — The Colorado National Guard flew a formation of F-16C Vipers over Colorado communities on Monday to commemorate Memorial Day.
The 140th Wing of the Colorado Air National Guard conducted flyovers in Greeley, Parker, Silver Cliff, Monte Vista, Grand Junction, Grand Lake, Denver, Thornton and Boulder on Memorial Day.
Monday's flights took place between 10:30 a.m. and 12:10 p.m. The aircraft may have also been seen between these locations as they transition between Memorial Day celebrations.
“Memorial Day flyovers are more than just a display of aerial precision, they are a solemn salute to our fallen heroes,” said 140th Wing Commander U.S. Air Force Col. Jeremiah “Weed” Tucker. “Each pass through the sky honors their bravery and reminds us of the high price paid for our freedom.”
