BOULDER, Colo. — The City of Boulder’s Open Space and Mountain Parks (OSMP) Department will close Boulder Falls west of the city starting as early as Monday, July 8, to complete additional trail-related repairs in the area.
OSMP completed significant repairs to the Boulder Falls Trail last year and reopened it to the public, however additional repairs are needed to help improve visitor experiences in the area.
The repairs will build on what the department completed following the 2013 floods. They include the installation of railing along the entire length of the trail, stair construction and some fence installation in the area. The closure is planned to continue through Sept. 6
Just last year, Boulder Falls reopened to the public following a five-year closure after the devastating flooding in 2013.
