Colorado hosting Blue Angels for air show

The U.S. Navy Blue Angels are returning to Colorado for the Pikes Peak Regional Air Show.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado — The U.S. Navy Blue Angels will headline the Pikes Peak Regional Air Show this month.

The team will fly on Saturday, Aug. 17, and Sunday, Aug. 18, at the Colorado Springs Airport.

Organizers said gates will open at 8:30 a.m. each day with flying beginning at 11 a.m. The Blue Angel are scheduled to fly at 2 p.m. each day.

Tickets are available online at PPAirShow.org. Organizers said general admission tickets are sold out on Saturday, Aug. 17.

In 2021, the Blue Angels made their first transition to a new aircraft in 35 years. The Blue Angels are flying the F-18 Super Hornet, which is 25% larger than its predecessor that was retired in fall 2020.

The Blue Angels last appeared in Colorado in October 2023 in Grand Junction.
