Big acts coming to Dillon for its summer concert series

The mountain town of Dillon has booked big acts like Michael Franti, the B52s and Bruce Hornsby for its summer concert series at the Dillon Amphitheater.

DILLON, Colo. — The summer concert series in Dillon is heating up well before the snow melts in the small mountain town.

Dillon, which is located about 70 miles west of Denver in Summit County has been trying to bring bigger musical acts to its outdoor amphitheater.

Last year the venue was renovated to include a bigger stage, green rooms, better lighting, and more restrooms. After the first summer, they started seeing bigger crowds.

“We are thrilled coming off the season we had launching the renovation we really saw record crowds throughout last summer people loved the programming,” said Kerstin Anderson, Dillon's marketing director.

In their second summer concert season in the renovated space, Dillon is looking to make their amphitheater one the best places to see outdoor shows in Colorado.

To do that they've invested in a $600,000 sound system and are bringing big names to the small town. They've booked Michael Franti, the B52s and Bruce Hornsby along with a number of local bands and Colorado favorites.

“It’s become a destination,” said Anderson.

Most of the shows, including Bruce Hornsby, will be free. Michael Franti and the B52s will be paid shows. You can see the entire line up at https://dillonamphitheater.com/
