Aurora announces summer concert schedule

The Aurora Rhythms concert series will take place monthly from June to December at different locations in the city.

AURORA, Colo. — The City of Aurora will host live music, performances and experiences this summer.

A free Aurora Rhythms concert series will take place monthly from June to December at different locations, including Aurora Public Library branches and the Aurora Fox Arts Center.

Summer Jams and Storytime performances will feature a storytime from the Aurora bookmobile and live performances.

Kalama Polynesian Dancers

Kalama Polynesian Dancers will kick off the season with a performance at 5:15 p.m., Thursday, May 30, at Del Mar Park, followed by the movie “The Marvels.” Storytime will not take place at this event.

Animal Farm

An Animal Farm event is Friday, June 21, at Generals' Park with original music exploring themes of social and emotional learning, community and self-expression through the eyes animals. An instrument petting zoo will be held after the performance.

The Mountain Buddies

The Mountain Buddies performance is Friday, July 12, at Mission Viejo Park. Harmonica and guitar tunes for children with classic sing-along songs for grown ups.

  • Tuesday, June 18, at the Aurora Fox Arts Center.

  • An exotic blend of world music, progressive jazz and blues.
  • Tuesday, July 30, Mission Viejo Library.

Salome Songbird Folk Trio

  • Original songs influenced by jazz, baroque, bebop and bluegrass.
  • Tuesday, Aug. 20, Martin Luther King Jr. Library.

Tom Pakele and Stevieguitar Glotzer

  • Guitar and harmonica blues duo.
  • Tuesday, Sept. 10, Mission Viejo Library.

“War of the Worlds” Live Radio Play

  • Professional actors performing the 1938 broadcast from H.G. Wells’ novel.
  • Tuesday, Oct. 24, Mission Viejo Library.

C.L. Fondal

  • Genre-blending music from Soul to R&B, to hip-hop, rock and blues.
  • Tuesday, Nov. 19, Aurora Fox Arts Center.

“The Bishop’s Wife” Live Radio Play

  • Performance with live sounds and music from radio shows from 1930-1955.
  • Tuesday, Dec. 19, Martin Luther King Jr. Library.
