PARK COUNTY, Colo. — Antero Reservoir will open for operation on Wednesday, May 1, Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) and Denver Water announced Monday.
Antero Reservoir was 90% covered with ice on the week of April 15 but became 100% ice-free over the weekend thanks to mild temperatures and wind.
CPW said all watercraft that is trailered, and gas, diesel and electric-powered will need to be inspected at the boat ramps.
The aquatic nuisance species (ANS) inspection station at the Antero Reservoir south ramp will be open seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. from May 1 to September 30. From Oct. 1 to Oct. 31, it will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., also seven days a week.
The north boat ramp will not open up until May 25 and will stay open through Sept. 1.
