ERIE, Colo. — A fast-growing town in Boulder County is getting a new grocery store.

King Soopers is opening its newest store at 8 a.m. Wednesday. The store is located at 2900 Arapahoe Rd in Erie. That's at the intersection of Arapahoe Road at Highway 287.

The grocery giant is hosting a slew of festivities Wednesday celebrating the store's opening.

The first 200 customers will receive a free breakfast. There will also be free samples and giveaways throughout the store.

The new store will replace the King Soopers located at Highway 287 at Baseline Road. That store is closing for good later Tuesday afternoon.

The new Erie store is 103,000-square-feet and will feature a pharmacy with drive-up capabilities, a Starbucks, fresh sushi, and Murray's Cheese. A fuel center with 18 pumps will also be on the property's footprint.
