Are you missing a giant rabbit?

A giant rabbit was discovered in Centennial Friday morning

CENTENNIAL - Most people envision rabbits as miniature creatures that silently hop around out of view.

So when Chris Royer saw an animal the size of a dog under a pickup truck Friday morning, he did not expect to come face-to-face with a rabbit.

He was on his way to the gym from his home on the 5500 South Kirk Circle in Centennial.

Royer believes someone may be missing their pet, so he brought the giant rabbit home.

He was feeding it veggies while attempting to find the owner. Royer also took the rabbit to a veterinarian who said it has a couple of health issues but is expected to be OK. He's also adjusted the rabbit's diet.

The Aurora Animal Hospital believes the 14-pound rabbit is a Giant Flemish. A breeder who contacted 9NEWS believes the original owners bought the rabbit from him and that it is a Continental Giant.

If anyone recognizes the animal, call 9NEWS at 303-871-1491.
